Celebrating 75 Years
On January 29, the OCHL celebrated 75 years in our community as the Oshawa Generals took on the North BayBattalion. Over 1500 OCHL players, coaches, friends, families and volunteers attended the festivities.

We were honoured to celebrate with key members of our community including Dan Carter (Mayor of Oshawa), Todd McCarthy (MPP), Tito-Dante Marimpietri (City Councillor), Mark Sheriff (Regional Chair’s Office) and Paula Kelly (MP’s office).

It also gave us the opportunity to thank our partners, including the OMHA, the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame, the Oshawa Generals and Their Opportunity.

The OCHL was excited to present Guy and Michelle Pylypiw with the President's Award for their continued sponsorship and support of our organization.

It was also a night to celebrate Dave Glazier. Dave dedicated his time and passion to the OCHL for over 50 years as a volunteer and we are grateful for all of his contributions.

This night wouldn't have happened with out our sponsors; Carpet One, Ground Force and Minto Communities.
We thank them for their support.

And finally, a huge thank you to the group of volunteers who planned such an amazing celebration.

The OCHL looks forward to continuing to grow grassroots hockey in our community.

DYLANS NO FRILLS
WHO WE ARE "We had to close the doors at 10:30 this morning and let people in as other people left." It was the kind of problem every store manager dreams of, especially on opening day. The first No Frills® prototype store had swung open its doors in East York, near Toronto. The reaction on the part of shoppers was enthusiastic, to say the least. "The rush never stopped," explained Loblaws manager Robert St. Jean, back in July 1978. "We're really excited about it... really excited!" The original No Frills® store was just that, no frills. No product advertising, no store displays, no meat counter, no clerks to bag your groceries, and you had to bring your own bags or pay 3 cents for each. "It doesn't bother me a bit," replied first day customer Frank Atlas when asked about bagging his own
