OCHL Hawks Roster Select (RS) Program
Program Overview: The Ontario Central Hockey League (OCHL) is thrilled to extend an exclusive opportunity for our house league players to elevate their skills and experience competitive play through our Roster Select (RS) program. The OCHL Hawks teams are composed of 15 talented skaters and up to 2 goalies, forming a formidable lineup eager to gain additional experience and challenge themselves in a higher level of play.
Try-Out Information: Try-outs for the Roster Select teams typically commence after the league is fully operational, around October. Specific times and locations for the try-outs will be posted on our official website to keep interested players and their families informed.
Age Divisions: The OCHL follows the guidelines established by the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) for various age divisions, ranging from U9 (Atom) to U18 (Midget). This ensures that our teams are aligned with provincial standards and provide an optimal environment for player development.
Program Details:

Games: Each RS team will play a maximum of 3 games per month, allowing players to engage in competitive matches while balancing their commitment to house league schedules.

Tournaments: Teams are permitted to participate in up to 3 Roster Select tournaments throughout the season. Notably, this includes the largest RS tournament in Ontario, proudly hosted by the OCHL. These tournaments offer a unique platform for players to showcase their skills against top-tier competition.

Eligibility: Only registered house league players are eligible to try out for the Hawks. It is crucial for players to prioritize their house league commitments, ensuring that any scheduling conflicts are resolved in favor of house league participation.
Additional Costs: Participation in the Roster Select program incurs additional costs to cover expenses such as ice time, referee fees, and tournament entry fees. Once the team is selected, families will receive a detailed budget outlining the operating expenses for the season. Importantly, the OCHL does not charge any additional fees for players to participate in this program, making it accessible for all interested participants.
