Overview
Development in Strides is a specialized hockey program developed by the Oshawa Community Hockey League (OCHL) to introduce children aged 6 to 10 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to the sport of hockey. The program is thoughtfully designed to provide a supportive environment where participants can build hockey skills, social interaction, and self-confidence.
Target Audience
The program serves children aged 6-10 who have been diagnosed with ASD. These children often experience unique social challenges, and Development in Strides offers a structured, team-based activity that supports the development of social and communication skills.

Participants: Limited to 72 children, divided into 6 teams

Development in Strides uses a comprehensive, child centered approach that includes:
