In-Season Responsibilities of the Coaches:

Head Coach

General Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership:

    • Serve as the official spokesperson for the team.

    • Act as the main representative and leader of the team.

    • Foster a positive team culture and inspire players.

  2. Practice Management:

    • Develop and execute practice plans in consultation with the assistant coach and/or the development team..

    • Execute and adapt league practice plans based on team needs.

  3. Game Strategy:

    • Plan and communicate game strategies to the team.

    • Conduct research on teaching strategy and skills for success.

    • Review game footage for strategic improvements.

  4. Player Development:

    • Conduct individual player assessments and provide feedback.

    • Track players progress throughout the season.

    • Individualized player development.

  5. Communication:

    • Maintain clear communication with players, parents, and coaching staff.

    • Hold regular team meetings and updates in coordination with the manager.

    • Address any conflicts or issues that arise.

  6. Supervision:

    • Establish team rules and ensure adherence.

    • Supervise players on and off the ice.

    • Address disciplinary issues and maintain a safe environment.

  7. Reporting:

    • Submit a year-end report evaluating player and team performance.

    • Include practice plans, game strategies, and recommendations for improvement.

    • Complete coaching feedback form.

Pre-Game Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Check: Ensure all players have necessary and properly maintained equipment.

  2. Warm-Up Preparation: Plan and oversee the team's warm-up routines.

  3. Game Strategy: Develop and communicate game strategies to the team.

During-Game Responsibilities:

  1. In-Game Adjustments: Make real-time decisions and adjustments based on the flow of the game.

  2. Player Supervision: Monitor player performance and behavior.

Post-Game Responsibilities:

  1. Review and Feedback: Conduct a post-game review with the team to discuss performance and areas for improvement.

  2. Injury Follow-Up: Ensure any injured players receive appropriate care and follow-up.

Assistant Coach

General Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with Player Evaluation and Selection:

    • Support the head coach in evaluating and selecting players.

  2. Assist with Practice and Game Planning:

    • Help develop and execute practice plans.

    • Support the head coach in planning game strategies.

    • Ensure players are mentally and physically prepared for games.

  3. Assist with Game Operations:

    • Help manage the team during games.

    • Provide tactical support and in-game adjustments.

  4. Assist with Opponent Scouting and Evaluation:

    • Analyze and evaluate opposing teams.

    • Provide insights and suggestions for game strategies.

  5. Supervise Players Off and On the Ice:

    • Ensure player adherence to team rules and expectations.

    • Monitor player behavior during practices and games.

  6. Submit a Year-End Report:

    • Provide a report to the head coach with observations and evaluations of players.

    • Complete Coaching Feedback Form

Pre-Game Responsibilities:
