U5 Development Program

Program Overview
The Oshawa Community Hockey League (OCHL) is proud to offer the U5 Development Program, specially designed for our youngest skaters. This program focuses on introducing children aged 2 to 5 (turning 2 before December) to the basic skills of hockey in a playful and enjoyable manner. Our aim is to foster a love for the game by creating a positive and supportive environment.

Cost
Early Registration: $160.00 (before July 31, 2024)
Regular Registration: $210.00 (after July 31, 2024)

Program Details:

  • Age for Participation: Boys and girls aged 2 to 5 years (turning 2 before December).

  •  Ice Times: 1 ice time per week on Sundays.

  • Equipment: Participants receive a free jersey and socks.

  • Professional Photo Package: Includes a professional picture package to capture memorable moments.

  • End of Year Award: Every participant receives an end-of-year award to celebrate their progress.

  • Coaching Staff: Certified OMHA coaches, trainers, and staff provide personalized instruction and support.

Program Objectives:

  1. Introduce Hockey: Provide a welcoming and enjoyable introduction to the sport of hockey for young children.

  2. Develop Basic Skills: Teach fundamental movements such as skating and simple stick-handling exercises.

  3. Promote Physical Activity: Encourage children to stay active and develop a love for physical fitness through hockey.

  4. Ensure Safety and Fun: Create a safe and fun atmosphere where children can explore and enjoy the game.

  5. Cultivate Passion: Foster a lasting passion for hockey by focusing on the sheer joy of playing.

  • Registration: Interested participants can register for the U5 Development Program through the OCHL website. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
